2. What personal data we collect and why
Contact form
When you use the contact form we collect your email address, message, and optionally your name. We also record the time taken to complete the form and a country code derived from your IP address by our hosting provider. This data is used only to respond to your message. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in handling your request and corresponding with you.
Pre-Beta reservation
Reservations are processed by Stripe. We do not collect payment card details on this site. We may receive your email address, the reservation date, and a transaction reference so we can link the reservation to your hull and callsign. Legal basis: performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations, such as accounting and tax.
Server logs
Our hosting provider logs requests automatically. These logs may include your IP address, browser type, requested pages, referrer, and timestamps. They are used to keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable service.
3. Legal bases for processing
We process personal data only where we have a valid legal basis under the GDPR: contract performance, legitimate interest, legal obligation, or, in limited cases, your consent.
4. Who receives your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers necessary to operate the site and service:
- Stripe — payment processing for hull reservations.
- SendGrid — email delivery for contact form submissions.
- Cloudflare — hosting, security, and request logging.
5. International transfers
Some service providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Commission Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your rights.
6. How long we keep your data
Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and handle any follow-up, and are then deleted unless a longer retention period is required by law. Server logs are retained for 30 days. Payment and accounting records are kept for the period required by Finnish accounting and tax legislation.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to request data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Cookies and tracking
This site does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics scripts. The light/dark theme is set from your browser preference and is not stored.
